Hello!

Hello from Korea,

It's been about 5 days since I've been in Korea and now that i think about it, it's going by really, really slowly.
To me it feels like it's been 2 weeks. Everything is going great- i made some good friends and everyone here is very friendly. =)

Still, i miss california. It kind of feels like i'm in the states or something! I know, everyone says that.
we just moved cities from this place called yongin. at yongin, we had an orientation and there were a bunch of performances. there was an elementary school girl band and here's my favorite girl from the bunch. she's really cute.

there was also traditional korean music:

We're currently placed in a city called Gyeongju. We're in a university called DongGuk and it's a buddhist affiliated campus so there's not much leniency for negligence, which makes some people here very angry.
Today, we started our lectures. They are very boring. This program is kind of unorganized and sloppy. There's a lot of effort that went into it but it's still a work in progress. Oh well. At least we're getting food and housing!

Anyway, here's a picture of the view from my room in dongguk university.

here's a pic of a bunch of us eating jjajjangmyun. these girls are placed in the same province as i am.

Fun huh?

Well, that's it for now. I miss everyone at home and I hope everyone's doing well.

love,
esther

boo! no updates! why no write back? you're probably busy on how to be an effective teacher and adapting to cultural differences and meeting new people . . . . okay, i understand why you're delayed on the news feed.

well, it's still sunny in california. fall fashion looks really pretty! how is the fashion over there?
